Won through a competitive design process, this project is a large scale multi-residential masterplanning and building design project on the current site of Channel 9 Headquarters in Willoughby, Sydney.
The project includes masterplanning for 510 apartments and commercial spaces across 10 buildings, up to 12 storeys to be approved within a complex planning framework. CHROFI’s design was proposed as an alternative to an existing approved DA. It demonstrates design excellence, strong commercial viability, an innovative approach and a sensitive response to an established suburban context and a resistant community.
Intelligent place making with a focus on significant public benefit has created a robust framework for development with significant commercial uplift over the current approvals.
In this project, community and authority consultation has been a crucial focus. Clear visual communication of the public benefit and urban design ideals, from the simple diagrams to visionary renders, has ensured the core principles are understood by all.
